He's Been There For Ages, by fraser stewart
"He's been there for ages", is a sculpture of a human male figure with his upper body buried in the ground. Inspired by the common garden ornament featuring a burrowing dog with its head under earth. The work is based on a visit to my grandmother who suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, was worried as she thought the a garden ornament, (model dog) was real and requested
"Someone better check on that dog, he’s been there for ages"
This story is often brought up to the amusement of members of my family. There is something that I find extremely fascinating about how society can see a situation that defines the downfall of others as laughable.
