I Fell For You, by fraser stewart
"I fell for you" was made as a result of the pursuit of the real performance. I became interested in a photo shown on the opposite page. The photo shows Yves Klein in a image titled Saut dans le vide (Leap into the Void). In this image you apparently witness Klein jumping, arms out stretched and falling toward a solid ground. Captured mid flight it appears that he will fall to his demise. The image is well known to be a photomontage but had a great influence on 1970's performance.
In this work I intended to explore further the idea of the void and realities that an action like this could take. The image was made during tests for a video work, however after this image I hit my head on the ground and spent three days in a Dutch hospital.
The result of which is a short documentary about what happened during and after the process of "I fell for you".
