In The Whites of her eye, by fraser stewart
The performance of "In the whites of her eyes took place in The Shop art space in Cambridge England. The concept for the exhibition was to read "The Dying Animal" by Philip Roth and create a work inspired by it, within four days.
The performance involved a short ritual of wrapping milk cartons in black tap before lying on the floor beneath a table and placing a candle to burn through a supporting rope. After the rope burned through, a large petrol canister would be left to swing. This would then knock the milk cartons over and pour milk down onto me. The work was meant to be a humorous yet embarrassing role reversal for the audience, as they watched this simulated sexual scene.
